Sweet moment- OLD

I absolutely love this baby. Anyone else remember when his hair was constantly on end? So sweet. This was a morning when he slept in and I was able to drink most of my coffee.
Coffee given by my secret sister, as well as, that adorable sleeper he was in (it had a dog face on the booty).
As a baby, Peyton was rather spoiled. I'd sit around and wait for him to make a noise from his crib so we could get up and party. Second child, he has adapted to kicking the bars of the crib and playing it like a drum until I retrieved him. Sweet numbered days. Of course, these days, they often get each other up and have some sort of converstation. Which is funny because Caleb's conversation is more dub da va ka da batman. Then they get to the top of the stairs and warn me they're heading down. Adorable.

Feeding Time!- OLD

I keep finding all these unpublished posts! I have another 6 that I haven't even looked through, yet! I'll try to pace myself. Anyway, I thought this was so sweet. I have to admit I don't even remember these pictures, but I remember these moments where Peyton would attack solid food. I love catching Andy mid laugh. He's such a good father.

Gimmie that food, dada! ... *sigh* Peyton as a baby. Seems like another lifetime ago.

Caleb Plays Peek-a-Boo

I just found this unpublished post. I'm so sad it never got uploaded!

This was taken a while ago (he no longer fits in that sleeper), but it is the closest I can get to an update while my photos are held hostage by my camera and husband. I felt an update was appropriate because Mister Caleb turns ONE tomorrow. You will have to ignore my side of the conversation as I'm sure only Caleb appreciates it. Also, Peyton has a small solo in the middle. So without further ado I give you, the sweetest baby in my world:

Easter?

I know Easter was more than a month ago, but I just dug out the pictures. Right now in our household it's more like Easter Evening, so the kids had to wait a good long time before getting their goodie baskets.

YAY! Easter!

Bath Toys!

They dug thru them pretty fast so by the time I stopped cherishing the moments Caleb was down to the last egg. Good times had by all.

Snow Babies

Well, it's officially winter because we had our token snow fall for the season. Peyton was so excited for snow that he wore his snow hat the entire time a church. Just in case. It was a beautiful, quiet snow and just enough to cover the ground and make tracks. It's melting so fast I think most people would miss it if they slept in too long. My kids don't have this problem. Some of these pictures are from last night when it was still snowing and the others are from this morning. I'll let you guess which are which. ;)

Caleb didn't like to look up at the snow. I got several of these type shots.

Mama and Caleb's footprints.
Both contemplating whether to risk the ditch or not. Luckily Mama made the decision for them.

Peyton's Next superhero Outfit

So this is Peyton's newest superhero creation. I guess it's Batman take II. Where did that wonderful Batman cape come from, you might ask. Well, I had it all along and had neglected it until one night I realized that I was not going to beat this Batman/superhero thing. This might have coincided with the fact that I most of my kitchen towels were disappearing as they were pressed into superhero service. Can I say superhero one more time? superhero. Ok enough.
SO I converted Peyton's drawer (yes, his one drawer) into a costume trunk and the kid went a bit crazy. He only wore that particular combination once, so I'm glad I got the pics! He's gone for the easier route of clothes or pajamas or just underwear, but always the cape.

Who's that caped crusader?

It's Peyton!

Winter footprint project

I love doing footprint projects. Here's one of our newer creations.

How cute are these little tootsies? Caleb's is the smaller one. ;)

My superheros!

Peyton is very much into batman. So much. This replaced his unhealthy addiction to Captain America. :) I'd compare the cartoon shows, but wouldn't want to bore you. Anyway with Captain America there was the shield. With Batman we have capes and bater-rangs (something like that) ours is a 20 foot string with a carabiner and a coat hanger attached. What a lucky child he is. :) Anyway, like all mothers in the past, I impressed my dish towels into service as superhero capes and these worked well; however, Peyton didn't like Caleb having the same size cape, so we then had to use a napkin. Then Peyton discovered his pillowcase made a much bigger cape than any towel and we were set. So here we are playing in the yard being the amazing mismatched superheros that we are. If only you could imagine the kids just running around and around in the yard, fighting those imaginary bad guys, with little winter hats just a bobbing.

Peyton and Caleb have a picnic

So most days when I give the kids a snack it's same ol' same ol', but once in a blue moon they surprise me. Take this day for example. As you can see in the picture they are having a picnic. And not just any kind of picnic. They upturned all of their toy containers and placed their sippy cups and snack bowls on it and were sitting on the drawers of others. You might also notice they both have their own cell phone's at their place setting. So adorable. I don't know who started the idea but it was precious and they were having a wonderful time of it. Andy and I have been working together and praying that they will be not just brothers but friends. Friends who can play together and depend on one another. Mostly is it dark and at times ferocious. Then there are these rare moments and they are lasting longer and coming faster and I see the light dawning. It's beautiful.

PS Peyton is wearing his batman cape. It's his favorite.
